There’s a demon making its way onto our streets, into our schools and into our homes. It’s killing without mercy–not just the drug users but unsuspecting people who’ve never used a drug before.
Fentanyl poisoning is the leading cause of death in the U.S. right now. Fentanyl-involved deaths are fastest growing among 14- to 23-year olds. The fastest-growing group dying is kids under the age of 19. Fentanyl is showing up in vapes, marijuana, fake prescription pills, cocaine, heroin and more.
Did you know that almost 75% of teens have never heard of fake prescription pills being made with fentanyl? Pretty scary since many teens have been buying prescription pills off of social media platforms. What some are getting are fentanyl pills manufactured to look exactly like a prescription pill. They then die of fentanyl poisoning. Drug dealers are dangerously mixing illegally made fentanyl with common drugs like Oxycodone, Percocet, Adderall and Xanax. An estimated 250-500 million pills made with fentanyl are in circulation in the U.S. at any certain time.
Never take a pill if you don’t know where it came from, even if a friend gives it to you and tells you it’s safe.
What is fentanyl? Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid. It is:
- Cheap
- Extremely addictive
- Up to 50% stronger than heroin and 100x stronger than morphine. A few grains of sand-worth can kill.
- Made in a lab
- A pain reliever like Oxydodone, morphine and heroin
Fentanyl is what killed my Amara. She thought what she was taking was heroin. What a horrible way to leave us.
